RVCALOHA Comes to Hawaii Dec. 2 – 9
On December 2, RVCA and its advocates will descend upon Hawaii for a week full of events that celebrate the pillars of the brand.
Anchoring the week’s activities are the RVCA X Hosoi Hammerhead Show and a performance by Dominic Fike at the Republik.
RVCA X HOSOI – The Hammerhead Show – December 4, 2019. 7-10 PM, 449 Cooke Street, Honolulu, Hi.
In the world of skateboarding, Christian Hosoi has always been a pioneer of style and functionality combined. First revolutionizing skateboard design with his “Fish” shape, then later with the unique Hammerhead shape. Originally released in 1984, the Hosoi Hammerhead quickly became one of the most iconic skateboard shapes of all time and a benchmark of individuality. It was sought by nearly every skateboarder and consequently bootlegged and sold around the world by several different companies. Eventually, Skull Skates and Christian created ads with images of him and the Hammerhead deck with the slogans, “The Real Hosoi” and “Beware of Imitations.” In 2016, the Smithsonian’s National History Museum of American History accepted an original Hammerhead as a historically important skateboard object. To this day the Hammerhead represents not only Christian’s influential impact on the skate industry but also the unique individuals and creativity that drives our culture. Inspired by a deck painted by Keith Haring for Christian in 1986, we have gathered some of the world’s most iconic skate, contemporary and fine artists in the world to create a one of a kind collection. This exhibition will travel the world: across North America—then to Europe, Australia and Japan.
50% of all art sales will be donated through the RVCA ANP fund and to a number of charities chosen by the artists and Christian. Some of these charities include Planned Parenthood, The Tony Hawk Foundation, Life Rolls On and Grind For Life.
RVCA X Dominic Fike – December 5, 2019, 8:00 PM, The Republik 1349 Kapiolani Blvd #30, Honolulu, HI 96814
Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com, Bampproject.com and at the Republik box office.

RVCA is the brainchild of company Founder and President, PM Tenore. Transcending the boundaries of traditional action sports apparel, RVCA is a design-driven lifestyle brand free from passing trends. Appearing as naturally on the shelves of boutiques as on those of a local skate shop, RVCA is brought together by a group of like-minded individuals from various subcultures, a collaboration of sorts, a lifestyle within itself.
PM Tenore’s intention from the very beginning has been to create a platform for RVCA, which combines art, music, fashion and a modern lifestyle in an original way. At the forefront of this vision has been RVCA’s Artist Network Program (ANP) – a venture established to showcase the talents of accomplished as well as unknown artists who inspire our generation and push the boundaries of creative excellence.
Established to promote the genuine integrity of RVCA’s subcultures while simultaneously giving back to the community, RVCA in essence is redefining the way the market views art and fashion as represented through the balance of opposites and how they coexist: water, oil; air, land; destruction, industrialization; art, science; foreign, domestic; order, chaos; past, present. For RVCA, it is about today, tomorrow and life as the big picture. It is about inspiring our generation, providing something of substance and culture and above all doing it with integrity and as a united family, a close-knit community.
