  Manhattan Beachwear expands

CYPRESS, CA. — June 4, 2014— Manhattan Beachwear, Inc. today announced its acquisition of CMK Manufacturing, a leading provider of women’s active and lifestyle apparel. Based in Los Angeles, CMK Manufacturing designs, manufactures and distributes under the brand names Green Dragon and Pink Lotus.  CMK brands are available at national department stores, chain and specialty retailers, catalogs and resorts.  

Allan Colvin, CEO of Manhattan Beachwear, Inc. will lead the combined entity which will operate under the Manhattan Beachwear Inc. name. The CMK brands are a welcome addition to the company’s current roster of Active/Lifestyle brands which include Trina Turk Recreation and La Blanca Resort. “We believe in the strength of the CMK brands and welcome them to the Manhattan Beachwear family. With the addition of Green Dragon and Pink Lotus to our brand offering we have an unmatched product mix in the swimwear, active and lifestyle markets,” said Colvin.

The Founders of CMK Manufacturing, Caroline and Michael Keefer have accepted positions with Manhattan Beachwear and will continue to lead Design and Sales for Green Dragon and Pink Lotus. Design for the two brands will be managed by the existing CMK design team. Sales will continue to be handled through CMK’s established in-house sales team and independent sales representatives. Manufacturing and purchasing will be integrated into the Manhattan Beachwear supply chain.  Administrative functions including accounting and human resources, in addition to warehousing and distribution will also be integrated into the larger company structure.
