Smith Optics earns industry accolades for best product packaging

Smith Optics earns industry

Press release:

KETCHUM, Idaho (February 11, 2014) – Smith Optics is the proud recipient of the Outdoor Industry Award for ‘Best Product Packaging’ for their ChromaPop lens technology campaign. The award, presented by Outdoor USA Magazine at the recent Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, celebrates those companies in the outdoor industry that excel in the design and implementation of innovative marketing and communications programs.

The in-house creative and marketing team at Smith Optics developed special packaging to support the launch of its new ChromaPop lens technology last August. The packaging helps to illustrate the clarity and color vibrance that is visible with ChromaPop lenses. The packaging is an extension to support the media kits that were distributed during the launch of the lens and includes a neon green box, hard case and vibrantly colored microfiber sunglass bag.

“The idea was, like the ChromaPop lens, for color to be impactful. We focused on keeping the message minimal and clear, reducing the design to the most essential,” commented Smith Optics Art Director, Chatham Baker.
