Action sports, outdoor brands lead VF’s growth

Eric Wiseman

VF Corp.’s Outdoor & Action Sports Coalition brands – lead by the North Face and Vans – grew faster than the company as a whole, and surged to become the leading portfolio in the company, CEO Eric Wiseman told the ICR XChange investors forum today. VF started the OAS in 2000 and has grown it to a $2.8 billion business in that time, Wiseman said. Last year, the nine brands in the OAS represented 38% of all sales in the company, surpassing its jeans coalition for the first time. In the last 5 years, North Face sales grew by 25% and Vans sales grew by 22%.
