Ron Jon closing its store at The Block in Orange

Ron Jon Surf Shop is closing its only California store at The Block at Orange. 

Many retailers have struggled at The Block, which attracts hordes of teenagers who like to hang out there but don't spend much money. 

Here's what the company posted on its website about the closing:

"In 1998 Ron Jon opened our store at The Block in Orange California. The lease for this store has come up for renewal. Unfortunately, we have been unable to negotiate a lease agreement that is economically acceptable to Ron Jon. The California store will close on Monday, December 15th.

We want to thank all of our Ron Jon customers who welcomed our brand to the West Coast and have remained dedicated Ron Jon enthusiasts these past ten years. We will begin our store closing sale the week of November 10th and hope that you will be able to visit us and take part in the savings that this closing will generate."
