The Buckle maintains strong sales in June

By TIFFANY MONTGOMERY

The Buckle is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Nebraska-based retailer that carries many action sports brands said today that same-store sales rose 28.9 percent in June.

Total men's sales increased 43 percent. Strong categories included denim, woven and knit tops and active apparel.

Total women's sales increased 34 percent. Strong categories included denim, knit tops and active apparel.

Accessories sales rose 29 percent during the month and footwear sales increased 9.5 percent.

The Buckle opened a new store in Chino Hills, Calif., in June, bringing its total store count to 377.

To find out more about why The Buckle does so well, read my previous story with Liz Pierce, below, a retail analyst with Roth Capital Partners. I walked through a The Buckle store with Liz to get her take on the chain's success.
