The Buckle rules retail in April

The Buckle maintained its momentum in April. The company recorded a 34 percent rise in same-store sales during the month.


In the first quarter, same-store sales rose 25.6 percent.


Mens

Total sales: up 44 percent

Strong categories: denim, woven and knit shirts, active apparel and accessories.

Price points: up 8.5 percent


Women's

Total sales: up 34.5 percent

Strong categories: denim, woven and knit tops, active apparel and accessories.

Price points: up 8 percent


Mens and women's accessories
: up 26 percent


Mens and women's footwear: down 2 percent
