More Quik layoffs from warehouse move

By TIFFANY MONTGOMERY | April 11, 2008 06:00 AM

The state posted a notice last week that Quiksilver will layoff an additional 155 employees as the company moves its distribution center from Huntington Beach to Mira Loma. Previously, the company reported that 115 positions in Huntington Beach were being eliminated due to the move.

Quiksilver SVP of Human Resources Carol Scherman told me Monday that the company has openings in Mira Loma and all employees being laid off in Huntington Beach are eligible to apply. She said many of the employees who have been given notice are electing to transfer to Mira Loma and those who are not do not want to make the drive.
