VF Corp. and Puma are among the bidders for winter outerwear company Helly Hansen, according to an unsourced report in the Sunday Times in the UK.

VF Corp. and now PPR, which owns Puma, are major players in the action sports and outdoor industries, of course. PPR owns Volcom and VF Corp. owns Vans, Timberland and North Face.

Both VF Corp and PPR have repeatedly stated they wanted to make more acquisitions in the outdoor and action sports arenas.

The report stated that Helly Hansen could be worth as much as 200 million pounds, about $312 million.
