Updated: Agenda busy in expanded space

Mary Miller and Paul Harvey of Rip Curl. It was Rip Curl's first time at Agenda.

Agenda got underway in a large new setting at the Long Beach Convention center Thursday.

The larger space meant approximately 450 brands were able to exhibit vs. the 300 or so at the Huntington Beach venue in the summer, said Agenda President Aaron Levant.

Several people I spoke to said that they liked the positive energy of the show, and the convention center setting reminded them a bit of a ASR – but a cooler version, and in the earlier days of ASR before the big, closed booth trend emerged.

Lots of retailers were on hand ranging from Urban Outfitters to Ron Jon’s. Many brands told me their appointment books were full and they were pleased with the quality of the retailers.

Agenda continues today at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Above, are photos from the show floor on Thursday and Friday.
