Deckers to drop Simple shoes

By TIFFANY MONTGOMERY
June 22, 2011 06:11 AM

Deckers Outdoor Corporation will no longer sell its Simple brand as of Dec. 31, according to an email CEO Angel Martinez sent to employees.

The company is focusing on its brands with the highest long-term and short-term growth potential such as UGG, Teva, Sanuk and the company’s emerging brands.

Deckers acquisition of Sanuk is expected to close in the third quarter.

I have a request in to Deckers to see if they would like to comment further.

To read more about Deckers, here's a link to our interview with CEO Angel Martinez about the Sanuk acquisition and the hiring of former Vans President Steve Murray.
