Ultimate Boarder kicks off weekend with live webcast from Mammoth Mountain

Santa Barbara, California (March 31, 2011) – The 4th Annual Ultimate Boarder® Surf, Skate, Snowboard Championships kicks off this weekend from Mammoth Mountain, and will feature a live webcast so fans everywhere can soak in the action.

The official boardsports triathlon brings together some of the tops pros, amateurs, legends and Olympians who will battle in the snow, surf, and on the skate ramp for a $50,000 purse prize.

Starting April 2nd at 9am, fans can catch all the thrills and spills of the weeklong event, by visiting www.ultimateboarder.com. There’s also an application where fans can share the webcast with their friends via Facebook.

“We are really excited to feature the webcast on ultimateboarder.com. Now every skater, surfer and snowboarder can watch their favorite athletes compete live from their computers wherever they may be,” said Ultimate Boarder Founder Tim Hoover.

Brad J Lilley, who has a strong background as an emcee of top action sports events and popular radio programs including the X-Games, AST Dew Tour, and the Olympics, will announce all three stops of the competition.

“The best thing about the webcast is that unlike the X-Games and Dew Tour where you have to wait for them to air on TV, Ultimate Boarder is now instantaneous,” said Brad J Lilley.

On the webcast, Brad will be joined by Kevin Pearce and Tawnya Schultz in the snow at Mammoth, then with Chris Cote and Mary Osborne for the surf contest at Seaside Reef and by Jesse Fritsch and Holly Lyons for the skate and final portion of the week-long event.

After Mammoth Mountain on Saturday, the event moves to Seaside Reef for the surf portion of the event, which will take place between April 4th – 7th, whichever day has the best waves. The event ends with skateboarding and an awards ceremony starting at 8am from the Seaside Reef Parking lot. It’s first time there has ever been a skate contest held at a state park.

The event is free and open to the public. Fans and spectators are urged to bring beach chairs and blankets.
