PacSun expands snow offering

An image from a PacSun email blast last week.

PacSun sent out an email blast last week promoting its selection of snow apparel and accessories.

I did not recall them carrying many snow goods in the past, so I followed up with PacSun CEO Gary Schoenfeld to see if this is a new initiative and asked him a few questions about it.

Is this new?

Gary Schoenfeld: We have carried snow outerwear in select doors for the past three years already. New this year would be adding some focused options in pants, gloves, fleece and goggles to complete more of the apparel needs when it comes snow.

Will it be carried in all stores?

Gary: Limited stores specific to climate and need for this type of product - approximately 100 stores.

What is the thinking behind getting into snow?

Gary: In certain stores in certain regions we realized that our customers were expecting us to carry apparel as it relates to snow. We are a destination for action sport brands when it comes to apparel and accessories, and snowboarding is a key action sport especially this time of year.

We have always carried great brands that either started in snow or are recognized for snow as well. Burton and Volcom for example.
