We were unable to attend opening night at the Newport Beach Film Festival's Action Sport series on Saturday, so we asked the festival co-producers at ChopShop if they had any photos to share.

They sent us to the main film festival producers, who sent along some images. All photos are courtesy of the Newport Beach Film Festival.

The photos are in three batches: the first, here, is from the premiere "Cancer to Capricorn."

Check back later for photos from "The Westsiders" and "Somewhere near Tapachula."

There are still plenty of surf, skate, snow and moto films to see this week at three different theaters in Newport Beach.

Click here for the schedule and films.
