Agenda expands footprint

By TIFFANY MONTGOMERY | November 18, 2009 07:00 AM

Agenda President Aaron Levant shared some news with me this week about Agenda’s January show.

As you’ll recall, Agenda upgraded its show last summer by moving to the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach.

In January, it will again reach out to emerging brands with its Primer@ Agenda section.

Aaron explains it this way:

“Agenda began as a super low cost, no frills, rack and table show in the back of a restaurant. For many emerging brands the price of our early shows enabled them to participate in a trade show well before they could have shown anywhere else.

“Over the past five years the products and services we offer our customers have forced us to raise our prices, making us inaccessible to many young brands.

“We are dedicating 1500 sq. ft. of our venue to return to our roots by providing emerging brands with an extremely affordable rack and table show. Agenda will select twelve brands that embody the same independent, artistic spirit on which Agenda was founded.”

Aaron said the new Primer section will be in the conference center of the Hyatt just down the hall from the Grand Ballroom with the rest of the show.

In all, Agenda will use seven rooms for the show, including the whole second floor of the conference center. In July, Agenda used only four rooms.

This Primer area during the January show will be focused on new Streetwear brands and graphic/art design driven brands, Aaron said.

The show is Jan. 8-9.
