CONNECT Sports Innovators, the San Diego venture capital group, extended its deadline to Friday, Nov. 13, for action sports companies to apply to make a pitch for funding at its next Capital Forum.

Like the first forum in June, this session will put six companies in a room with a group of investors. The companies make 20-minute presentations, then field questions from the audience.

CONNECT is a non-profit "innovation accelerator" that brings together young companies in several industries with venture capital investors.

For its Sports Innovators forum, eligible companies are in a range of sports areas, including action sports. The companies can be in several stages of development, from start-up to later-stage funding. The companies must be based in Southern California, from Santa Barbara south.

The presenting companies will receive 6-8 weeks of coaching from a CONNECT entrepreneur in residence to prepare for the presentation.

Its next forum is Feb. 2, 2010, the day before the next ASR show.
