ONE Distribution Announces The Hiring Of Rick Lohr and Gus Neves
February 13, 2012, Fountain Valley, CA—ONE Distribution is pleased to announce the acquisition of two action sports industry heavyweights: Rick Lohr and Gus Neves. Rick Lohr is the new Vice President of Apparel Merchandising and Design, and Gus Neves is the new Latin American Sales Manager.
“This is huge for ONE Distribution,” said CEO Scott Bailey regarding the hires. “We have an amazing team of talented people here, and the hiring of Rick and Gus is just more evidence of our ability to attract the best of the best in this industry.”
Rick Lohr’s reputation needs little introduction. Rick was, most notably, the Senior Director of Men’s and Boy’s Merchandising at Volcom for the past five years. Before that, he operated his own brand, Katin, for much of the 90s before selling it to K2. Rick then worked in men’s contemporary fashion for two years, collaborating with musicians like Josh Homme (Queens of The Stone Age), Slash (Velvet Revolver), and Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction).
“Super stoked to go to work with the team,” Lohr said. “I have known the team here for several years (including a stint where my band rehearsed in the ONE warehouse for about five years), and I’m excited to work with a great company and great people. The market is ripe for KR3W to grow its position, and I intend to make that happen.”
Gus Neves was born in a small town near Rio De Janeiro and grew up in the Brazilian skate scene. Entranced by the skateboard industry, he moved to San Diego where he put himself through school and received a degree in economics from SDSU. He went on to become the Brand Manager for Latin America at DC Shoes, followed by a brief stint at Vans as the Marketing Manager for Latin America.
“When the opportunity to join ONE Distribution came along, I dropped everything to be part of it,” Gus said. “Our brands have a very unique space in the marketplace that goes way beyond what's been done with other skate shoes and apparel brands. I'm here now to stretch our reach from the TJ border all the way to the tip of Argentina.
