NEW YORK, N.Y., DATE- McCann New York announced today that it will produce a unique art and music event celebrating digital art and action sports for the conclusion of the upcoming Agenda Trade Show in New York City.
Titled “Artists Know How To Party,” the event, featuring the art of digital design collective Depthcore and a musical performance by Trouble Andrew, celebrates digital art, action sports and the fashion those sports inspire. It takes place the evening of July 19 after the conclusion of the two-day Agenda:NYC trade show, a showcase of more than 100 action sports brands, held at the Chelsea Art Museum.
“This is a trade show like no other, with incredibly creative and adventurous brands,” said Marco Cignini, Group CD at McCann NY, who is also an avid snowboarder and skateboarder.
“The spirit of those brands and of digital art complement each other in a wonderful way. Agenda loved the idea of bringing these creative cultures together, so did McCann. And the party was born.”
The event celebrates the love of action sports and the culture it inspires. The art exhibit will showcase “Obsolete,” the most recent chapter of work from Depthcore, a design collective made up of more than 200 digital artists from around the world, which has collaborated with sports brands such as Quicksilver, DC Shoes, Crooks & Castles and Nike.
The art will be auctioned off to benefit Stoked Mentoring, a NYC-based non-profit organization that mentors at-risk youth with action sports-related programs.
The musical guests are also established action sports athletes. The founder and lead singer of Trouble Andrew is Trevor Andrew, a professional snowboarder and Olympian, and DJ Quim Cardona is a professional skateboarder.
The event, held from 7pm until midnight, will be hosted with editorial company
Cut + Run, at their top-floor space in Soho, at 599 Broadway.
Additional sponsors who have donated their efforts include Portland Color, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Sailor Jerry and Red Bull.
