It pertains to my business
It pertains to my business

I’m an avid reader of Shop-Eat-Surf because it’s really the only online newsletter that I have found that is not only industry related, but also because it’s not so “guy-centric.” I find that a lot of the information I read on the site pertains to my business (as a swimwear designer) and keeps me up to date on what other companies and other women in the industry in general are doing which is not only inspiring but also helps me gauge the future direction of my business as well.

I feel privileged to read the Executive Edition because I know I am getting insider industry information before it hits the mainstream media channels. And it’s always good to know what my friends are up to in the industry.

Press Release:

etnies is Proud to be Supporting the Greenpeace International Skatepark at Glastonbury This Year

June 3, 2011 (Lake Forest, CA) – etnies will be joining forces with Greenpeace and FSC at Glastonbury Festival 2011 (June 22-26) to present the Skate Good Wood skatepark, promoting the use of sustainable wood from officially managed forests.

The ramp Greenpeace has built is more than twice the size of previous years, making it the largest touring skateboard park in the UK. Built from FSC wood, the only truly reliable certification scheme for wood and virgin pulp paper products, it demonstrates that you can do anything with FSC wood.

By choosing FSC you are not only helping to protect the incredible biodiversity that is found in our ancient rainforests but are also helping to mitigate climate change. Come along to the Greenpeace Field and skate with Barney Page (etnies), Caradog Emanual (etnies), Nicky Howells (éS) and many other top names.

etnies is hosting pro skate demos and have plenty of cool products to giveaway throughout the weekend! There will also be tutored sessions for people who want to try skateboarding for the first time or have a little experience, so everyone can get involved.

Etnies shoes.etnies pros Barney and Caradog will be wearing their Jameson 2 eco shoes which are produced from recycled bike tires, rubber gloves, plastic bottles and heavy canvas cotton. For every pair of Jameson 2 Eco shoes sold, etnies plant a tree to create a rainforest in Costa Rica.

Check out this video and web feature to learn more about the etnies ‘Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree’ project: http://etnies.com/blog/2011/2/14/the-etnies-rainforest-is-coming/.

Tickets sold out ages ago, but you still have a chance to win a pair with our friends at Schuh http://www.schuh.co.uk/competitions.aspx?CompID=116.

Make sure you check out the etnies Facebook page for updates throughout the festival www.facebook.com/etnies.europe.
