Executive Edition is a must have
Executive Edition is a must have

Before Shop-Eat-Surf, there were two sites I paid for premium content on. One is Surfline, the other is the Wall Street Journal. One is about all things surf, the other, the best business content site in the world. Shop-eat-surf is the intersection of those two worlds. Shop-Eat-Surf provides everything from coverage of events, people, brands and trends. However, beyond the Executive Edition "wall" is more meaty analysis and interpretation of financial statements, business models and brand philosophies; why certain brands and companies are succeeding, where others aren't. The Executive Edition is a must have read if the business of surf and action sports are on your radar screen.

Press Release:

Roxy teams up with SGT (SASS Global Travel) sending Roxy pro riders Erin Comstock and Robin Van Gyn to host two weeks of powder snowboarding, backcountry coaching, guiding and Roxy signature events in Argentina.

VANCOUVER, BC, May 26th -- Roxy is proud to announce the addition of another Roxy summer snowboard event in 2011 with the launch of the 2011 Roxy Women’s Session at SGT's Argentina operation in beautiful Bariloche. Running from August 20th to September 3rd, 2011, Roxy athletes Robin Van Gyn and Erin Comstock will be on hand coaching with SASS’s experienced coaching and guiding staff, in addition to hosting signature Roxy events on and off snow.

The Roxy Women’s Session is focused on getting female riders into the backcountry and improving every aspect of their snowboarding, from big mountainn riding, jumps, trees and most importantly safe backcountry travel.

Roxy has been at the forefront of women's progression in snowboarding supporting and nurturing their athletes in all their snowboarding endeavours. To keep the movement strong, Roxy turned to SASS, who has been an important part of the freeride movement educating and building strong freeriders through their coaching and guiding program for the last 7 years.

In 2010, the entire Roxy team traveled to the SASS Argentina compound to experience the terrain and a real South American winter. The partnership between Roxy and SGT hopes to inspire and foster the females involved to expand their knowledge and ability in the mountains 2011 Women’s Session.

“We’re very happy to be bringing Robin and Erin back from the Roxy crew to coach an awesome group of women this year,” said SASS Global Travel Director Travis Moore. SASS and Roxy will be putting together not only an awesome freeride coaching and guiding program, but will have a number of signature events going on such as a slopestyle event and nightly off snow shenanigans.

“SASS is the most unique program I’ve ever been to,” says Roxy’s Women’s Session coach Erin Comstock. “You’re in the middle of winter, hitting cliffs, jumps, and powder. It’s a camp for backcountry – that’s pretty awesome!”

The Roxy Women’s Session runs from August 20th to September 3rd, and riders can pick either week (August 20th-27th or 27th-Sept. 3rd) or both - perfect timing for the biggest dumps of the Southern Hemi season, especially the infamous Santa Rosa storm.

Starting at $1995/week, Roxy’s Women’s Session riders will have access to all of SASS Argentina’s amenities, including slopeside lodging, daily breakfast and dinner, a backcountry awareness course, 24/7 support, local airport transfers, and discounted airfare through LAN Airlines in addition to the women-specific coaching, guiding, and activities.
