I’m an avid reader of Shop-Eat-Surf because it’s really the only online newsletter that I have found that is not only industry related, but also because it’s not so “guy-centric.” I find that a lot of the information I read on the site pertains to my business (as a swimwear designer) and keeps me up to date on what other companies and other women in the industry in general are doing which is not only inspiring but also helps me gauge the future direction of my business as well.

I feel privileged to read the Executive Edition because I know I am getting insider industry information before it hits the mainstream media channels. And it’s always good to know what my friends are up to in the industry.

I find Shop-Eat-Surf to be a very useful and informative site that I enjoy browsing daily. Shop-Eat-Surf is the first thing I look at every morning to keep up-to-date on the latest talk, events, and happenings in the industry. I must say I am a fan of Shop-Eat-Surf.

Steve Murray heads to Deckers

The mystery is over.

 

Steve Murray is leaving Urban Outfitters for Deckers Corporation, which owns several brands including the popular Ugg Australia.

 

Steve's new title is President of Europe, Middle East and Africa. He starts June 1 and will be based out the company's Richmond, England offices.

 

Deckers CEO Angel Martinez said in a press release that the company has been looking for the right person to fill that job for a long time.

 

“In Steve Murray we have found the unique combination of footwear and lifestyle brand building and global expertise that we need at a time when our international business is poised for growth unlike anything we’ve seen in the past," Martinez said.

 

Steve will be in charge of Deckers' subsidiary and distributor business for Ugg Australia, Teva, Tsubo and Simple Shoes brands.

 

Prior to his role as Global President of the Urban Outfitters brand, Steve was President of VF's Action Sports Coalition, and before that, served as President of Vans.
