I require all our executives to read it

There is no better publication that I am aware of that is so accurate and on top of any news and developments in our industry. I personally recommend it to many people that want to know and understand more about our industry. For the most part, shop-eat-surf.com gets the stories first. As a matter of fact, I require all the executives in our company to read it.

It pertains to my business

I’m an avid reader of Shop-Eat-Surf because it’s really the only online newsletter that I have found that is not only industry related, but also because it’s not so “guy-centric.” I find that a lot of the information I read on the site pertains to my business (as a swimwear designer) and keeps me up to date on what other companies and other women in the industry in general are doing which is not only inspiring but also helps me gauge the future direction of my business as well.

I feel privileged to read the Executive Edition because I know I am getting insider industry information before it hits the mainstream media channels. And it’s always good to know what my friends are up to in the industry.

Press Release:

Nestled in Northern Orange County are two of the surfing world’s oldest and most iconic shops, Harbour Surfboards and Kanvas by Katin. These surfing establishments are now into their 52nd year of operation, both started in 1959.

So it gives Olam great joy to announce that in collaboration with Harbour Surfboards and Kanvas by Katin we are privileged to bring you a limited edition t-shirt from each shop. These shirts will only be available at Kanvas by Katin and Harbour Surfboards for a limited period of time, April 15th to October 15th of this year.

Twenty percent of the profit from these t-shirts sale will be donated to the OC Walk to Remember, a charity dedicated to parents that have lost a child during pregnancy or infancy.

Katin“I can't tell you how stoked I am to collaborate with Harbour Surfboards and Kanvas by Katin” said Olam founder Mike Vavak. “Growing up in North OC these two shops are like a second home to me.”

Harbour Surfboards shop owner Robert Howson said, “The Harbour Surfboards/Olam collaboration will hopefully in some way touch the lives of those that have greater challenges in life than those purchasing the T-shirts. It will certainly give pause to the buyers to think of these people in ways that they would not have by considering other product. We are grateful to be a part of this positive trend!”
