It is common knowledge in our industry that there is one undisputed leader in reporting on the topics, businesses and trends that impact all of us the most, and it is shop-eat-surf.com. Their access to those who make our industry happen is second to none, and we value not only the content of their reporting but the editorial thought on what it all means both in the present as well as the future. If we were asked to give a rating, it would be five out of five stars.

Two long time executive directors of industry trade groups are stepping down or changing roles.
The Board Retailers Association (BRA) said Executive Director Melissa Clary is leaving the organization as of Jan. 9. Melissa had worked with BRA for nearly five years and was the point person on several projects including the Survival of the Fittest series, the Retail Summit and Industry Boot Camp.
IASC Executive Director John Bernards
BRA is looking for someone to take Melissa’s place. In the meantime, BRA’s Elizabeth Peavy will handle day-to-day operations.
The International Association of Skateboard Companies is also looking for a new executive director. John Bernards told me he is ready to work less, and will take on the role of Executive Director Emeritus and remain very involved with IASC.
John said IASC expects to have a new executive director in place early in the year and is in the process of identifying candidates.
See Page 2 for the BRA press release on Melissa’s departure.
