Press Release:
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA, December 13th 2010 – From January 13th -14th, Surf City USA will host the 2011 SoCal Rep Show in the heart of the American surf and swim industry, at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. This new show will offer a turnkey solution to surf and swim sales reps and companies who need to meet with their buyers on a budget, and will fill the gap left from the dissolution of ASR.
“After the sudden collapse of ASR, exhibitors where left scrambling.” Show Producer Shannon Leggett explains. “Since the show dates for AGENDA and SURF EXPO fell over the same weekend, we thought it would make sense to host a show that serves the needs of a selective group of surf and swim companies. We are primarily targeting the junior girl’s buyers from surf specialty stores. They tend to be the same cross over buyer in the surf and swim categories. These surf specialty stores sell the surf story.”
Environment
The environment of the SoCal Rep Show will be similar to the NorCal Rep Show in Santa Cruz in its “back to basic” nature. As the need for regional shows continues to grow due to the new economy, the SoCal Rep Show will continue to offer a platform for this evolving segment of the market. Complimentary lunch will be provided to buyers who register and book appointments before January 9th, 2011. Buyers are encouraged to pre-register at HYPERLINK "http://www.socalrepshow.com" www.socalrepshow.com .
Swim Collective
Co-located with the SoCal Rep Show will be a special section of the show floor called the Swim Collective. The Swim Collective is a national west coast swimwear trade show set to debut on August 3rd and 4th 2011.
Selling the Surf Story
The SoCal Rep Show selected the best swim brands and sales reps from Southern California and profiled their brands collectively in order to better sell the surf story to surf specialty stores. With the shrinking junior girls segment of the surf market, the SoCal Rep Show provides an environment saturated with brands that are immersed in the surf culture.
Networking Reception
After day one of the show, buyers will be treated to a networking reception hosted by Surfing Magazines “Swimsuit Issue”. Invited buyers will get to preview behind the scenes video footage, and view a sneak peak inside the pages of the upcoming 2011 Surfing Magazine Swimsuit Issue on news stands April 1st 2011. Buyers can see what future trends will be profiled in this special private showing.
