I require all our executives to read it

There is no better publication that I am aware of that is so accurate and on top of any news and developments in our industry. I personally recommend it to many people that want to know and understand more about our industry. For the most part, shop-eat-surf.com gets the stories first. As a matter of fact, I require all the executives in our company to read it.

Executive Edition is a must have
Executive Edition is a must have

Before Shop-Eat-Surf, there were two sites I paid for premium content on. One is Surfline, the other is the Wall Street Journal. One is about all things surf, the other, the best business content site in the world. Shop-eat-surf is the intersection of those two worlds. Shop-Eat-Surf provides everything from coverage of events, people, brands and trends. However, beyond the Executive Edition "wall" is more meaty analysis and interpretation of financial statements, business models and brand philosophies; why certain brands and companies are succeeding, where others aren't. The Executive Edition is a must have read if the business of surf and action sports are on your radar screen.

Press Release:

BURLINGTON, VT & NEW YORK, NY (September 1, 2010) — Burton Snowboards has teamed up with iconic music lifestyle brand Marley & Co. to create an all new, limited edition snowboard, available starting this month. Called the Whammy Bar Marley, the board is part of Burton’s Restricted collection, a special assortment of outerwear and hardgoods that can only be found at select authorized retailers.

Key features of the new Whammy Bar Marley board include a simulated wood-grain topsheet layered with a series of classic photos from Bob Marley’s family archives. The images reflect his love for family, music and life. In addition, the base of the board features a powerful graphic showcasing the traditional Lion of Judah integrated with the colors of the Rasta flag and Burton branding.

“It was a natural fit to work with Burton on the Bob Marley snowboard collection,” says Rohan Marley. “Like my father, they are pioneers in their field and celebrate life’s endless possibilities.”

“Snowboarders around the world are some of Bob Marley’s most dedicated fans,” added Greg Dacyshyn, Chief Creative Officer at Burton Snowboards. “So we were honored to work with Marley & Co. on this project. With the help of the Marley family, we chose iconic images from Bob Marley’s life for the board graphic, to pay tribute to his legacy, music and lifestyle. The history and heritage of both Burton and Bob Marley definitely come to life in this board.”

Burton’s Whammy Bar Marley is an all-new snowboard for the 2010/2011 season that has a smooth, catch-free feel for plenty of fun times all over the mountain. The Whammy Bar Marley is available in four sizes and retails for $399.95.

For more info about this board or any other Burton products, head to your local snowboard shop, a Burton flagship store or burton.com.
