Executive Edition is a must have

Before Shop-Eat-Surf, there were two sites I paid for premium content on. One is Surfline, the other is the Wall Street Journal. One is about all things surf, the other, the best business content site in the world. Shop-eat-surf is the intersection of those two worlds. Shop-Eat-Surf provides everything from coverage of events, people, brands and trends. However, beyond the Executive Edition "wall" is more meaty analysis and interpretation of financial statements, business models and brand philosophies; why certain brands and companies are succeeding, where others aren't. The Executive Edition is a must have read if the business of surf and action sports are on your radar screen.

Press Release:

San Clemente, CA (July 22, 2010) – For the third year in a row, Charity Navigator has awarded the Surfrider Foundation with a coveted four-star rating. This prestigious rating shows that the Surfrider Foundation is able to consistently execute its mission to protect and preserve our oceans, waves and beaches in a fiscally responsible manner, while efficiently growing and managing its finances.

“By earning a four-star rating for the third year in a row, Charity Navigator has reaffirmed that Surfrider Foundation is a credible and trustworthy place to invest,” said Jim Moriarty, CEO of the Surfrider Foundation.

Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that the Surfrider Foundation outperforms other charities in America in successfully managing its finances in an efficient and effective manner, which is extremely important as donors are demanding more accountability, transparency and quantifiable results from the charities they support. This consistency in Surfrider’s rating is an exceptional feat, as only 14% of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive three consecutive four-star ratings.

Charity Navigator is America’s premiere charity evaluator that highlights the fine work of efficient charities and provides current and potential donors with the essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the choices they make. By earning a four-star rating for the third year in a row not only differentiates the Surfrider Foundation from its peers, it shows the public that the organization is worthy of their trust. According to Charity Navigator “This ‘exceptional’ designation differentiates Surfrider Foundation from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

”We couldn’t be happier that Charity Navigator has renewed our four-star rating,” said Steve Blank, Surfrider’s Director of Development, “Donors have many options when making a philanthropic gift and this provides one more reason for them to feel confident in making a donation to Surfrider Foundation.”
