HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., July 13, 2010 — Nike 6.0 is proud to announce the opening of Motel No Tell in Huntington Beach, Calif. just four blocks north of the world famous Huntington Beach Pier on Pacific Coast Highway. Motel No Tell is a place where Nike 6.0 fans can enjoy workshops, movie screenings, live music and a product customization lab. It also serves as the epicenter for all of the action happening at the U.S. Open of Surfing July 31 – August 8.
The Nike 6.0 space started as a classic coastal motel and in just four weeks it was transformed into the ultimate action sports community center. The original motel was stripped to its core and redesigned by Antonio Ballatore, host of HGTV’s, The Antonio Treatment. The grounds include twelve custom-built rooms tricked out with themes including:
• A celebration of past U.S. Open of Surfing champions
• Nike 6.0 customization lab where consumers can personalize board shorts, sandals, T-shirts, backpacks and the new Zoom Primo iD shoe
• A recreation of Nike 6.0 surfing phenom Kolohe Andino’s personal bedroom
• Vintage action sports arcade games, a music jam room and a digital editing suite
Motel No Tell also serves as a place where youth can learn life skills through a series of creative workshops and surf lessons via partnerships with Stoked Mentoring and Surfer magazine. Over the course of the summer, participants will learn about past and present action sports culture and collaborate to publish a ‘zine in August about their experiences.
Nike 6.0’s Motel No Tell is open to the public 7 days a week from 11am to 5pm, through September 6, 2010 and is located at 720 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA 92648
This marks the first year that the Nike 6.0 Motel No Tell concept has gone international. A sister location in Hossegor, France called The Roundhouse is open through August 27.
