Press Release:

San Clemente, Calif., May 5, 2010 – The Action Sports Group (ASG) launched SupTheMag.com last week as the on-line companion to its newest print title SUP Magazine; a 30,000 copy publication from the editors of Canoe & Kayak, which debuted last year.

“We built SupTheMag.com to showcase the highest quality SUP journalism on the web,” said Jim Marsh, publisher of SUP Magazine. “We want to be the go-to site for those searching for impartial gear reviews, great writing, and the best SUP photography and videos available.”

The website includes news, photos, video, gear reviews, personality pieces and feature stories from editors and photographers who love the sport and surf, race and paddle at world class levels.

Like its print counterpart, SupTheMag.com features the most engaging personalities in the industry including Gerry Lopez, Laird Hamilton, Garrett McNamara, Chuck Patterson, Slater Trout, Corran Addison and Dan Gavere among others. It is also an all water website covering everything from flatwater touring and fitness paddling to racing, surf and whitewater.

“The world of SUP is evolving so quickly that nobody can predict how or where it will blow up next, but with SupTheMag.com, the sport’s community can count on us being there to cover every new event and next horizon,” said SupTheMag.com editor Dave Shively.

“Following on the success of our print magazine, SupTheMag.com gives us a vehicle to dig in and deliver fresh and relevant pieces to an ever-growing audience — from athlete profiles and videos, races to rivers, board and paddle reviews, plus event coverage to quick news hits and instructional skills — and, to create the dialogue to discuss it all.”

Log onto SupTheMag.com today for all the latest and greatest in the world of standup paddling.
