April 22, 2010 – VISTA, CA – DC and Ken Block are proud to announce that they have begun development on the highly anticipated Gymkhana THREE project. Set to release in Summer 2010, the project will feature the DC Co-Founder and Rally car driver taking the art of gymkhana to a whole new level.
“DC has been involved with my Gymkhana projects ever since the very first video hit back in 2008, and I am really stoked to once again be working with them on the newest film,” said Ken Block. “We’ve had a lot of fun creating the previous Gymkhana clips and have even been rewarded with numerous awards for our work, along with record breaking viewership. And of course, as would be expected, we are looking to outdo ourselves this time with Gymkhana THREE.”
DC and Ken were in San Francisco, CA Tuesday night at a private event where, along with Ford and Monster Energy, Ken announced the project and unveiled the Gymkhana THREE 2011 Ford Fiesta, which was built specially for the filming of the Gymkhana THREE project. The updated livery, designed by DC and Ken, is an evolution to Ken’s current Monster World Rally Team competition cars and features Ken’s signature paint drip graphic as well as the personalized KB logo treatment designed by Huck Gee. Coinciding with the release of the Gymkhana THREE project will be exclusive DC x Ken Block apparel and footwear.
To date Ken Block’s series of Gymkhana videos, consisting of Gymkhana Practice, Bonus Edit, TWO, 2.1 and, the special educational lesson on gymkhana with the “Hot For Words,” has had more than 70 million views virally and received numerous awards. Gymkhana TWO earned a Bronze Pencil at the One Show Entertainment Awards in the “Online Branded Entertainment” category and was #4 on Ad Age’s list of top viral videos of 2009. Most recently Gymkhana TWO won a 2010 People’s Telly Silver Award, presented by YouTube.
