Updated 9:45 a.m. with comments from Jamie Thomas on how this arrangement will impact Fallen apparel.
Displaying one of the synergies derived from its alliance with Black Box Distribution, Insight announced that skateboarder Jamie Thomas, founder of Black Box, will ride for Insight.
Insight is mostly known as a surf and fashion brand. Jamie will help develop a capsule collection to be released in early 2010.
In July, Insight USA and Black Box announced a new distribution partnership.
Now that Jamie will be riding for another apparel brand, I asked Black Box how that will impact Fallen, Black Box's footwear brand that also makes apparel.
"Although (I) will personally be wearing and endorsing Insight, Fallen will maintain its focus on footwear and apparel as well as the respective teams that support these products," Jamie told me.
Carlsbad-based Black Box is responsible for the sales and distribution of Insight in the U.S. - essentially backend operations.
The Insight USA team remains in charge of marketing and product and kept their offices in Los Angeles.
