Action sports retailer Adrenalina has closed its Miami International Mall location in Doral, Florida according to the company.
A retail manager at one of their current stores said they are planning to open a new location in southeastern Florida by February. Adrenalina CEO Ilia Lekach could not be reached to confirm this.
Known for having a FlowRider wave pool in its stores, Adrenalina bid unsuccessfully for retailers PacSun and West 49, and at one point expressed interest in buying Active Ride Shop from bankruptcy court.
Adrenalina's wave pool draws big crowds to its stores and to malls, but the company has struggled financially. For the nine months ending Sept. 30 2008, the company reported a net loss of $6.1 million, the most recent financial data available.
Adrenalina's three other locations - in the Florida Mall of Orlando, the International Plaza in Tampa, and Willow Bend in Plano, Texas - remain open.
