SIMA released the details of the public paddle out for Dick Baker today. Also, I am compiling a second page of tributes to Dick with messages I have recently received that I will post soon. Here is a link to the first page of tributes.
Paddle out information from SIMA
The SIMA and surf industry families are deeply saddened by the recent passing of SIMA's longtime president, leader and guiding light, Dick Baker, after his two-year battle with cancer. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support that have been expressed. A public Paddle Out has been planned in Dick's honor. Please find the basic information below:
PADDLE OUT SERVICE IN MEMORY OF DICK BAKER
WHEN:
Sunday, May 31 - 3:00 p.m.
There will be a traditional Paddle Out as well as a Circle Service on the beach at the same time.
Following the service, guests are free to surf Doheny, picnic on the beach and in the large, shaded picnic area reserved for the Dick Baker Paddle Out. Festivities will continue until the sun sets.

Doheny State Park, Dana Point
