Executive Edition is a must have
Executive Edition is a must have

Before Shop-Eat-Surf, there were two sites I paid for premium content on. One is Surfline, the other is the Wall Street Journal. One is about all things surf, the other, the best business content site in the world. Shop-eat-surf is the intersection of those two worlds. Shop-Eat-Surf provides everything from coverage of events, people, brands and trends. However, beyond the Executive Edition "wall" is more meaty analysis and interpretation of financial statements, business models and brand philosophies; why certain brands and companies are succeeding, where others aren't. The Executive Edition is a must have read if the business of surf and action sports are on your radar screen.

It pertains to my business
It pertains to my business

I’m an avid reader of Shop-Eat-Surf because it’s really the only online newsletter that I have found that is not only industry related, but also because it’s not so “guy-centric.” I find that a lot of the information I read on the site pertains to my business (as a swimwear designer) and keeps me up to date on what other companies and other women in the industry in general are doing which is not only inspiring but also helps me gauge the future direction of my business as well.

I feel privileged to read the Executive Edition because I know I am getting insider industry information before it hits the mainstream media channels. And it’s always good to know what my friends are up to in the industry.

The Collective will examine juniors market

By Tiffany Montgomery
September 19, 2008 5:27 AM

Here are some details about The Collective, an event at The Camp I'm working on with Foam Magazine.

The team at Foam and I have lined up influential industry executives to talk about the junior's market of today and tomorrow. The speakers will also share key moments in their careers.

I wanted to work on this project because my readers have told me they want to hear more information on the junior's industry and about the "success stories" of people who have ascended to top positions. Foam operates in this market - and they are very nice people - so it was a natural fit.

24|seven is the presenting sponsor.

Confirmed speakers include:

Laurie Etheridge, Senior Vice President, Merchandising and Design, Roxy.

SwellStacyClarkStacy Clark, left, Chief Executive Officer, Swell.com.

Summer Rapp, Vice President of Design, Quiksilver Women's

Susan Crank, Chief Executive Officer, Lunada Bay

Johnny Schillereff, Founder and President, Element

Dick Baker, Chairman Emeritus, Surf Industry Manufacturer's Association

Cary Allington, Co-Founder, ActionWatch

Welcoming remarks by Shaheen Sadeghi, owner of The Camp and The Lab

The Collective is Thursday, Oct. 16 at The Camp in Costa Mesa.

More details will be released soon about how to purchase tickets and additional speakers.
