I am a big fan of Tiffany and her team as well as an avid reader of Shop-Eat-Surf. I shop, I eat, I surf -- I should pay.

There is no better publication that I am aware of that is so accurate and on top of any news and developments in our industry. I personally recommend it to many people that want to know and understand more about our industry. For the most part, shop-eat-surf.com gets the stories first. As a matter of fact, I require all the executives in our company to read it.

Hurley fundraiser tonight; Sabre lands Zumiez order

Hurley is teaming up with the nonprofit Boarding for Breast Cancer tonight for a pretty cool fundraiser to support breast cancer education and early detection in young women.

Artists, musicians, celebrities and Hurley employees have designed special T-shirts for a silent auction. Heidi Klum, Nicky Hilton, Courtney Cox Arquette and others have designed shirts. All the proceeds go to Boarding for Breast Cancer and Hurley will match the money raised.

The event is from 4 to 8 p.m. in the SeaBar at the Mondrian Hotel, 8440 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood.

Sabre update

Costa Mesa based sunglass company Sabre Vision emailed in a company update last week. Founder Brooke McGregor says Sabre scored an order from Zumiez for 25 doors with the sunglasses hitting stores in mid-November (I have an email into Zumiez about this but haven't heard back).

Australian retailers have also stocked up on the brand leading into summer there, with a key account, Surf Dive ‘N' Ski leading the way. In Asia, fashion boutique Beams will expand the number of doors that carry the line, McGregor said. Sabre launched in December last year so McGregor is pretty excited about the orders.
